Who can be a member

  • Any individual who self-identifies as of African descent.

  • Any person who self-identifies as Africanist in thought, believe and practice.

  • All individuals interested in legal questions on women in Africa and the Diaspora.

  • Members may also be trained as legal professionals or work in any law related field, including but not limited to lawyers, judges, law professors and other specialized legal fields and areas of research.

  • Encourages members drawn from an interdisciplinary group of scholars and practitioners.

  • IAWL does not discriminate based on any identity. All who share the vision and mission are welcome to join.
