African Women in Law Legacy Project

The Institute for African Women in Law has launched an oral history project, the African Women in Law Legacy Project documenting the life stories of pioneer and iconic African women in law. Using indigenous African knowledge systems of storytelling, the project seeks to preserve the legacy of women in law as they tell their stories in their own voices, moderated by the Hon. Judge (Ret.) Ann Claire Williams (US Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit) . In the first episode, we present Judge Julia Sebutinde . The first African woman to serve as a judge on the bench of the International Court of Justice. Be motivated by her rich professional trajectory, as she remains undaunted by the challenges she has faced along the journey. Be inspired by her closing words of wisdom for future generations.
